Butler Golf Classic A Record Success
The Butler Golf Classic, the largest one-day fundraiser for BU athletics, enjoyed record numbers at Pebblebrook Golf Club recently. The event enhances the overall student-athlete experience, with all funds raised through the outing going directly to Butler’s 365 student-athletes and 19 NCAA Division I teams.
Butler Golf Classic hosted 276 players in 69 foursomes at the beautiful course in Noblesville. Fifty-four sponsors supported the event, which was held Monday, June 11.
After the round was completed, attendees were addressed by Butler head coaches Bill Mattingly (men’s & women’s golf), Jeff Voris (football), Beth Couture (women’s basketball) and Brad Stevens (men’s basketball). Also making an appearance in the afternoon was Butler’s famed mascot-in-training, Butler Blue III.
"The Butler Golf Classic was a successful event again this year. It continues to be an outstanding example of how much the Butler faithful care about Bulldog Athletics,” said Associate Athletic Director Mike Freeman. “We cannot thank all the participants, sponsors and volunteers for making it a day that everyone looks forward to each June."
