Beth Goetz Accepts Position At Minnesota
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. -- Associate Athletic Director Beth Goetz has
resigned her position at Butler University and will join the
athletics management team at the University of Minnesota.
Goetz, who has served at Butler University since August 2008, is
expected to begin her new role at Minnesota in early March.
Goetz has served as Butler’s senior woman administrator for
the past four-and-a-half years. She has had responsibility
for compliance and eligibility and recently assumed direct
oversight of the department’s budget and financial aid.
She’s also served as the sport administrator for softball,
volleyball, and men’s and women’s soccer, and formerly
was sport administrator of men’s and women’s track and
field and cross country.
“We are happy for the opportunity that Beth has earned, but
also saddened that she is leaving Butler,” said Butler
Director of Athletics Barry Collier. “Beth has done a
tremendous job for us in many, many ways and we will definitely
miss her. We congratulate Beth and wish her well at
Minnesota.”
Goetz joined Butler’s athletic staff after a 12-year stint at
the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She served an assistant
athletic director and senior woman administrator for eight years
and as women’s soccer head coach for 11 years at UMSL.
She led the women’s soccer team at Missouri-St. Louis to
eight winning seasons and a 120-90-10 overall record, and she was
named Great Lakes Valley Women’s Soccer Coach of the Year in
2000.
A gifted collegiate soccer player, Goetz earned All-America
recognition at Brevard College in North Carolina. She went on
to play two seasons at Clemson, where she helped the Tigers to a
29-11-1 record and a national tournament appearance.
Goetz earned an Associate of Arts degree from Brevard in 1994 and a
Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Clemson in 1996.
She received her Master in Education degree from UMSL in 2000.
