Celebrate Butler BIG EAST Day, July 1

On Monday, July 1, Butler University will officially become a member of the new BIG EAST. To celebrate this occasion, the University has planned several activities that day, beginning with a media availability at 10 a.m., in the Wildman Room of Hinkle Fieldhouse. Butler President James Danko, Athletic Director Barry Collier, Men’s Basketball Coach Brad Stevens, and Women’s Basketball Coach Beth Couture, as well as others, will be on hand to answer questions about Butler’s move to the new BIG EAST.

Fans can watch the broadcast at www.butler.edu/live, and participate by submitting questions for the panel to answer. To participate, post your question to Twitter using the hashtag #butlerBIGEAST. A handful of questions will be used during the live broadcast.

Other Butler BIG EAST Day activities include:

11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. – Downtown Circle Rally
Butler cheerleaders, Hink, Trip, and members of the Butler athletics staff will be on the circle with a variety of giveaway items for Butler fans.

4:30–6:30 p.m. – Hinkle Fieldhouse Open House
Fans are invited to Hinkle Fieldhouse for an opportunity to take some shots on the Hinkle Fieldhouse court, check out ticket options for the upcoming basketball season, participate in Enter-to-Win contests in the Spirit Shop, and more.

7 p.m. – Indianapolis Indians Game at Victory Field
Butler Athletic Director Barry Collier will throw out the first pitch prior to the Indians game against Louisville.
