Butler Lands 67 Athletes On Horizon League Academic Honor Roll

Butler placed a league-high 67 student-athletes on the 2006 Horizon League Spring Academic Honor Roll. The Bulldogs shared the top spot for total number of athletes chosen on the league honor roll with UW-Milwaukee.
The women's track and field/cross country squads paced all of Butler's teams with 14 student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll. Men's track and cross country had eight athletes honored, while men's soccer, women's soccer, women's golf and women's tennis each had five athletes named.
Butler also led the league in number of men's basketball players named to the honor roll. Senior Julian Betko, junior Drew Streicher and sophomore A. J. Graves each made the honor list for the Bulldogs.
The Horizon League recognized a total of 505 student-athletes on the honor roll. UW-Green Bay finished third in total number of athletes honored with 60, while Youngstown State placed 58 on the honor list. Loyola and Wright State each had 53 honorees, followed by Detroit (52), UIC (49) and Cleveland State (46). Women's track and field/cross country had the highest sport total with 56 athletes.
To earn a spot on the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must participate in at least one of the league's 19 championship sports during the most recent season, have completed three semesters (or four quarters) as a full-time student at the same member institution and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.25 (on a 4.00 scale).
