BUTLER SPORTS SPOTLIGHT

*Senior Dale Jennings celebrated his return to Butler's football squad by rushing for 194 yards and three touchdowns in the Bulldogs' season-opening win over Tiffin. Jennings, who transferred from Butler to Western Kentucky and then back to Butler, was named Pioneer Football League Co-Offensive Player of the Week.

*Junior Brandon Martin was selected as PFL Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in Butler's football win over Tiffin. Martin returned three punts for 80 yards, including a 60 yard touchdown. It was Butler's first punt return for a touchdown in more than a decade.

*Senior Keely Norris was named to the all-tournament Team at the Mortarboard Purdue Premier. She had 53 kills in Butler's four tournament matches and moved into 10th place on the Bulldogs' all-time list for kills with 1,085 for her career.

*Senior Michael Heston shot a two-under-par 70 to tie for first place at the University of Indianapolis Men's Golf Invitational. Heston lost medalist honors when Kyle Chin of Indiana Wesleyan carded an eagle on the first playoff hole.

*Junior Krista Rott tallied her first goal of the season to lift Butler to a 1-0 women's soccer victory over Western Michigan. Rott scored the game-winner with less than 15 minutes remaining in the match.

*Senior Paul Vogel and freshman Brad Johns both were named to the all-tournament team at the Spinx/Land Rover Furman Invitational.

*Senior Brad Bennett, running in his first race for the Bulldogs this season, placed fourth at the Great American Legends cross country meet hosted by Purdue. Bennett finished the 8K race in 25:25.

*Senior Kristi Laskowski shot rounds of 75 and 79 to tie for 15th in the final individual standings and help lead Butler's women's golf team to a seventh place team finish at the Ball State Cardinal Classic.
