Dr. Stephen Kollias graduated cum laude from Butler University in 1985 where he made the first-team NCAA/ GTE Academic All America Football Team as a defensive end and he won the Hilton U. Brown Award for Outstanding Student Athlete.
Dr. Kollias attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and graduated in 1989. He completed his orthopaedic surgery internship and residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis in 1994 and a fellowship in shoulder, sports medicine and arthroscopy at Southern California Orthopaedic Institute in Van Nuys, Calif. in 1995. Dr. Kollias received The Top Doctors Award for sports medicine from Indianapolis Monthly in 1998.
He was the team physician for IUPUI men's and women's soccer, swimming and tennis teams from 1997 to 2000 and, along with working with the Bulldogs, is currently team physician for Zionsville High School and the Indianapolis Indians Baseball Club. He has also provided sports medicine coverage in Indianapolis for many local and international events. He has instructed many courses in arthroscopic surgery and specializes in treating shoulder problems and arthroscopic reconstruction surgery of the shoulder and knee.
Dr. Kollias is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, The American Medical Association, The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.
