Schedule change to Butler-Buffalo Series
The Butler-Buffalo series schedule has been changed due to impending weather in Indianapolis this weekend. The Bulldogs and Bulls will still attempt to play four games, but with doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday. Fridays action from Bulldog Park will start at 1 p.m. and Saturdays doubleheader will begin at 12 p.m. GameTracker will be available for all four games at ButlerSports.com.

Bulldogs Split Home Opener Against Morehead
The Butler Softball team (14-3) split two games with Morehead State (7-10) on Tuesday March 16 at the Butler Softball Field. The Bulldogs won the first of two games in extra innings when Annie Dolan had a walk off hit in the bottom of the ninth. The Bulldogs were unable to complete the two game sweep losing 5-1 in the second game.

Butler To Play Illinois State In WNIT
The Butler womens basketball team is headed for postseason play for the second straight season. The Bulldogs, who finished second in both the Horizon League standings and league tournament, received the conferences automatic bid and will travel to Illinois State for a game on Wednesday, March 17. ISU is 24-7 and finished first in the Missouri Valley this season.

Western Kentuckys Megan Meinke scored in the 45th minute to give the Butler womens soccer team a 1-0 loss in its season opener Friday afternoon. Meinkes game-winning goal, a strike from the left side just outside the box, came at 44:35.

Fourteen members of the Horizon Leagues Student-Athlete Advisory Committee visited Riley Childrens Hospital on Friday, July 31. The community outreach opportunity included guest speakers, a video session and tour of the hospital.

Butler's Gordon Hayward, who was selected for USA Basketball's 19-and-under national team Thursday, was first featured in the sporting press four years ago. A story in a regional section of the Indianapolis Star profiled Gordon and his twin sister, Heather, who were playing mixed doubles in the Indiana State Open. They were precocious prep tennis stars. She had already played No. 1 singles as a freshman at Brownsburg High; he played No. 1 doubles then, and No. 1 singles the next year. The paper said the twins planned on going to Purdue, their parents' alma mater.

It might have looked like a huddle, but reading a story and having fun was the game plan, when outfielder Jenny Jacobs of Indianapolis gathered her "team" of youngsters around her during the Jan. 12 Readers' Day in Hinkle Fieldhouse. A senior member of Butler's softball team, Jacobs read the children's book Click, Clack Moo during a family literacy fair, staged before the Butler men's basketball game against Milwaukee.
