Butler's men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Verona, Wis., to compete in Friday's NCAA Great Lakes Regional. The men will face off against 30 other teams, including BIG EAST opponents Marquette and Xavier. The women will compete in a 34-team field that also features Marquette and Xavier.

The men will send ten runners to compete following their third-place finish in the BIG EAST Championships.
Euan Makepeace will look to turn in another impressive performance at this weekend's Regional.  The redshirt freshman led Butler's men's team at the BIG EAST Championships with a third-place finish, recording a time of 24:32.90.

Joining Makepeace will be four more BU men who enjoyed great success in the previous meet. Â

Johnny Leverenz (25:25.40) finished 14th, 15th, 17th and 20th at the BIG EAST Championships. Also running for the Butler men will be

The BU women will send nine to compete in the Great Lakes Regional after a fourth-place finish in the BIG EAST Championships.
Katherine Turner will look to continue the success she found in New York. The senior finished fifth in the Championships with a time of 21:11.70.

Colleen Weatherford. Thestrup, a freshman, finished seventh (21:20.30) in the BIG EAST Championships with Westeroff (22nd, 22:07.50), Anderson (28th, 22:36.60) and Weatherford (31st, 22:39.30) following right behind. Also competing for the women will be

Kristen Johnson and
Hannah Hartzell.

The women's 6K race on the Thomas Zimmer Championship course will get underway at 1 p.m. on Friday, with the men's 10K following at 2 p.m.. Live results can be found at
