The BIG EAST announced its first weekly honors of the 2016 season and Butler took home two of the four awards as
Eric Dick was named Goalkeeper of the Week and
Isaac Galliford earned Freshman of the Week accolades.
Â
Dick, a redshirt junior, had 10 saves as the Bulldogs fought to a 0-0 draw with host Louisville on Friday night in the season opener. The Cardinals had 23 shots overall and 11 corner kicks, but Dick was able to turn away all 10 shots on goal to post the shutout against one of the ACC's top teams. Dick had seven saves in the opening half.
Â
This is the fourth time in Dick's career that he has earned the BIG EAST's weekly netminder honor.
Â
Galliford had a team-high four shots for the Bulldogs in his Butler debut.
Â
The Bulldogs (0-0-1) return to action Tuesday night, hosting IUPUI at the Butler Bowl at 7 p.m. Live stats will be available for the contest. Â
