Butler captured the Loyola Fall Invitational title, using a tiebreaker over the host Ramblers as the teams played even through 54 holes.

The Bulldogs entered Tuesday's final round with a three-shot advantage. Loyola was able to make up those three strokes, but Butler's depth provided beneficial as the tiebreaker was the individual score of the team's fifth player.

Lauren Tibbets led the Butler effort with a fourth-place finish, carding a 78 Tuesday to finish at 236 overall. Teammate
Kelsey McDougall was one back with a Tuesday 79 and a total score of 237. She finished in a tie for fifth.

Scoring on the 6,112-yard, par-72 Flossmoor Country Club course was made difficult by a hot and windy day Monday as the teams played 36 holes. Scoring didn't improve much with Tuesday's conditions.

Betsy Werner (81-82-81—244),
Abigail Gleixner (81-84-84—249) and
Rachel Gathof (82-90-81—253) rounded out the Butler five. Werner finished in a tie for tenth.

The tournament came down to Gleixner's 84 on Tuesday, which bettered Loyola's fifth player for the round, Logan Willis, who shot 85.

Janisa Bondoc, playing as an individual, shot 87-90-92 for a three-round score of 269.

The Bulldogs shot a team score of 314 in the early round Monday, followed by 330 in the afternoon. Butler shot 319 Tuesday, which trailed only Loyola's 316 on the day.

Southern Illinois (968) was five shots back to finish third, followed by Indiana State (985), Chicago State (998), Evansville (1,000), UIC (1,017), and Green Bay (1,028).

Southern Illinois' Brooke Cusamano won the individual title with a total of 232.

Butler's women are next in action Oct. 3-4, when the Bulldogs host the Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Golf Club.
