Abigail Gleixner finished as the individual runner-up at the 2016 Redbird Invitational, pacing the Bulldogs team that placed fourth overall. Gleixner shot an opening-round 69 and followed that with back-to-back rounds of even-par 72 to stand alone in second at 213 (-3).

The Bulldogs also got a strong performance from
Lauren Tibbets, who tied for fourth individually with a three-round score of 218 (+2). Tibbets shot a two-under round of 70 on Monday, the fourth-best round of the day.

Boston College won the event, hosted by Illinois State at the 6,090-yard Weibring Golf Club course. As a team, BC was 10 shots off the pace after the first 18 holes Sunday, but rebounded with top rounds of 291 Sunday afternoon and 293 Monday. Their three-round total of 890 (+26) was two shots better than Northern Illinois.

Florida Gulf Coast placed third (902, +38), followed by Butler at 903 (+39). The Bulldogs were eight shots clear of host Illinois State.

Evansville's Kayla Katterhenry won the individual title with a three-round total of 208 (-8).
