2017-18 Schedule with Radio Assignments Included
For the second consecutive year, Butler men's basketball games will be broadcast by the PNC Butler Radio Network. The radio schedule was announced Thursday, Oct. 12.Â
"We're excited for this upcoming season and appreciate our relationship with PNC Bank and their continued support for Butler Athletics," said Barry Collier, Butler University vice president and director of athletics. "We love that we can provide Bulldog fans great options to follow us throughout the season. With the help of our partners at Learfield, we've created a home for our broadcasts through the Emmis network, in addition to airing a few games on WXNT 1430 AM."
On Saturday October 28, the Bulldogs will take on Hanover in an exhibition game. Fans will hear the familiar voices of Mark Minner and Nick Gardner as they broadcast play-by-play and game analysis, respectively. This season marks the 12th for Gardner and fifth for Minner.
"Mark and Nick are great ambassadors for our university and basketball program, and we know that our fans will continue to enjoy their talents on the radio network, " said Barry Collier, Butler University vice president and director of athletics.
Butler head coach LaVall Jordan will join radio host Dan Dakich for a weekly debrief segment throughout the season, beginning on Wednesday, Oct. 26. The interviews will air every Wednesday at the top of the Dan Dakich Show at noon on WFNI 1070 AM and 107.5 FM.
For decades, PNC Bank has supported educational, athletic, arts and cultural campus initiatives at Butler, including a partnership with the College of Education to raise awareness and support for quality pre-K programs in Indiana. PNC became the official bank of Butler Athletics in 2012, and that partnership grew to include the PNC Butler Radio Network, which launched in 2016.
"Teaming up with Butler has allowed us to connect, strengthen and enrich our relationships with the school's students, their families and the surrounding communities," said Connie Bond Stuart, PNC regional president for central and southern Indiana. "We look forward to cheering on our hard-working, dedicated student-athletes as they enter a new season."Â
Learfield's Butler Sports Properties, the university athletic department's multimedia rights partner, secured the first-ever naming rights for the radio network prior to the 2016-17 campaign.
Fans can tune in to hear the 2017-18 basketball game broadcasts on the following PNC Butler Radio Network affiliates: WFNI 1070 AM and 107.5 FM in Indianapolis, and WLYV 1450 AM in Fort Wayne. In the Indianapolis market, select games will be carried on WIBC 93.1 FM or CBS Sports 1430 AM in the event of game conflicts with the Indiana Pacers or Indianapolis Colts.
