The Bulldogs are tied for third after 36 of 54 holes at the Butler Fall Invitational. Play concludes Tuesday in the seven-team event.
Butler is led by
Michael Cascino, who is tied for fifth individually. The freshman is five-over (145) through the first two rounds after shooting 74 and 71 Monday.
Butler and IUPUI are tied for third at 594 (+34). The two schools shot matching totals of 294 in the opening round and 300 in Monday's second round. Indianapolis leads at 577 (+17), followed by Evansville (582). Marian (610) is fifth with Chicago State (611) and Vincennes (615) rounding out the seven-team event.
Graham McAree (Indianapolis) and Tyler Gray (Evansville) lead the event at four-under 136.
Freshman
Augie Hartnagel is tied for eighth, shooting 71-76 for a seven-over total of 147.
Patrick Allgeier (74-74—148; +8) is tied for tenth, followed by
Logan Sabins (75-79—154; +14) and
Spencer Fairbanks (77-79—156; +16). Sabins and Fairbanks are tied for 32
nd and 39
th, respectively.
Butler has six players participating as individuals at the home event.
Zack Carrabine's two-round score of 147 (72-75) is tied with Hartnagel for eighth. Junior
Gehrig Hollatz has matched Allgeier in tenth at 148 (+8). He shot 74 in both rounds.
Michael Denner shot an even-par 70 in the opening round and is now at 150 (+10), tied for 19
th.
Eric Smitson (154, +14; T32),
Nick Williams (158, +18; 43
rd), and
Hunter Byram (159, +19; 44
th) rounded out the Butler golfers.
The teams are playing at Highland Golf and Country Club, which is set up as a par-70, 6,551-yard course for the event.
The final 18 holes are slated for Tuesday morning with a shotgun start scheduled for 8:30 a.m.
