Butler spent the weekend in Bloomington, Ill., matching up with host Illinois State, Eastern Illinois and Saint Louis in the two-day Redbird Duals.

Rachel Sutton defeated Illinois State's Jelena Karla Vujicic, 3-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-7), and later in the weekend, she knocked off Saint Louis's Ariana Rodriguez, 7-6 (5), 6-1.

Caroline McAuley and Sutton won 7-5 against EIU's Emily Pugachevsky and Karla Contreras. The Butler duo then defeated ISU's Jana Kustkova and Ivon Mihaleva, 6-1.

In additional singles wins, Nina Bertino defeated EIU's Claire Martin, 7-5, 6-1, and Kendal Wilby beat EIU's Shelby Anderson, 7-5, 6-0.

A pair of freshmen also posted singles wins for the Bulldogs. Emily Neal beat Illinois State's Kustkova, 6-0, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6), and Lauren Marx won over SLU's Gabriella Papachrisanthou, 6-2, 6-1.

Wilby and Neal also teamed up for a 6-0 win over EIU's Anderson and Martin.

This is the final competition of the fall for the Bulldogs. The spring season begins Jan. 13 at Purdue.
