Entering Monday's final round, Butler is tied for second at the Homewood Hilton Airport Invitational, hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University in Estero, Fla.
Rain shortened Sunday's play from 36 holes to 18. In tough windy and wet conditions, Butler shot a 35-over 323, which trails leader Central Florida by seven strokes. Butler is tied with host FGCU.
Conditions called for the teams to play pick, clean and place Sunday at Old Corkscrew Golf Club, which was set up at 6,718 yards.
Sophomore
Logan Sabins shot a five-over 77 and is tied for second. He was one shot better than teammate
Michael Cascino, who is tied for fifth after a 78.
Patrick Allgeier (82, T21),
Gehrig Hollatz (86, T46), and
Zack Carrabine (88, T52) round out the Butler five.
Bethune-Cookman's Daniel Brennan shot a 75 Sunday and has a two-shot individual lead.
In the team standings, eight teams are within 11 shots of Central Florida's lead.
Play concludes Monday at 8:30 a.m. with teams teeing off from No. 1 and No. 10.
