INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler swim team placed seventh overall at the House of Champions meet. The Bulldogs scored 446 points to earn their best placing with the current number of teams involved. 25 of the 30 BU swimmers that competed over the weekend qualified for the BIG EAST Championship meet. The Bulldogs also set six school records.
 
 
Day 1 Highlights
Butler ended day one in eighth place (14 teams) with 103 points. The Bulldogs set seven new BIG EAST qualifying times.
 
 
500 Free 
Abbie Linek set a new school record in the 500 Free. She won the B Final with a time of 5:05.26. Teammates 
Megan Hanson and 
Andee Bauer also competed in the event. Both swimmers finished with a BIG EAST qualifying time. Hanson placed 25th (5:16.98) and Bauer was close behind in 31st.
 
 
400 Medley Relay - 
A second school record would fall on day one of the House of Champions Invite. 
Grace Grzybek (back), Emma Spott (breast), 
Annah Van Gheem (fly) and 
Tori Horton (free) will all have their names in the BU record book after posting a time of 3:52.53 in the 400 Medley Relay.
 
 
200 Free Relay
Abbie Linek (25.12), 
Annah Van Gheem (24.2), 
Emma Spotts (24.5) and 
Tori Horton (24.2) placed 14th in the 200 Free Relay with a time of 1:38.19. The B relay team placed 20th by finishing in 1:40.69. 
Sydney Gurry highlighted the group in the third position with a 23.27 split.
 
 
50 Free
Four Bulldogs posted a BIG EAST qualifying time in the 50 Free. Horton led all Bulldogs with a 24th place finish. She touched the wall at 24.71 in the final, however her season-best time came in the prelims (24.30). 
Emma Spotts placed 34th at 24.74 and a pair of 'Dawgs tied for 40th (24.90).
 
 
Day 2 Highlights
 
 
400 IM
Olivia Allen placed her name in the BU record book by breaking the school record in the 400 IM. Allen placed 12th in the B final with a BIG EAST qualifying time of 4:35.95. 
Emily Motill placed 16th in Prelims (4:43.32, BIG EAST qualifying time) and 16th again in the finals (4:52.13). Rounding out the event for BU was 
Carolyn McGrail who laced 19th in the C Final with a time of 4:44.70.
 
 
100 Breast
Another BU school record would fall on day two of the House of Champions meet after 
Emma Spotts competed in the 100 breast. Spotts placed fourth in the A Final with a time of 1:04.86. She swam faster in the prelims, touching the wall at 1:04.83. 
Sydney Gurry competed in the B Final with a 14th place finish. Her time of 1:07.22 places her in the BU all-time top ten list.
 
 
100 Back
Grace Grzybek flirted with the school record in the 100 back for BU. Grzybek placed fourth in the A Final with a BIG EAST qualifying time of 56.86. 
Tori Horton was active in the B Final with a 15th place finish (58.55). She posted a BIG EAST qualifying time along with teammates Sofie Camarillo (1:01.02) and 
Sadie Texer (59.86).
 
 
200 Medley Relay
The team of Grzybek (26.96), Spotts (29.52), Van Gheem (25.86) and Horton (23.97) just missed the school record in the 200 Medley Relay. The unit finished seventh overall with a time of 1:46.31.
 
 
100 Fly
Seven different student athletes posted a BIG EAST qualifying time for Butler in the 100 fly. 
Annah Van Gheem led the group with a 22nd place finish in the C-Final (58.69). 
Emma Harris also finished under a minute at 59.43 for 28th place.
 
 
200 Free
Abbie Linek and 
Andee Bauer were the top two Butler finishers in the 200 Free. Linek placed 22nd in C-Final (1:55.62) while Bauer placed 26th with a personal-best time of 1:57.50. Both student-athletes notched BIG EAST qualifying times.
 
 
800 Free Relay 
BU placed 13th in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:54.67. The team included Harris, Gurry, Bauer, and Linek.
 
 
Day 3 Highlights
 
 
1650 Free
Olivia Allen set a new school record in the 1650 free with a BIG EAST qualifying time of 17:45.61. She placed seventh overall. 
Andee Bauer placed 16th in event with her BIG EAST qualifying time of 18:07.73.
 
 
200 Breast
A second school record would fall in the 200 breast with 
Emma Spotts placing fourth in the A-Final. Spotts touched the wall in 2:21.88. Three other Bulldogs came up with BIG EAST qualifying times. 
Olivia Allen placed 12th in B Final (2:26.54), 
Natalie Rohweder placed 13th in B Final (2:26.59), and 
Megan Rush placed 27th (2:32.90).
 
 
200 Fly
Seven Bulldogs swam well for the team in the 200 Fly. 
Annah Van Gheem placed 18th in the C Final with a 2:10.52 BIG EAST qualifying time. Her performance ranks in the BU all-time top ten list. BU had three student-athletes finish in a row with 
Madison Schluchterer placing 24th (2:16.17), 
Emma Harris taking 25th (2:13.28) and 
Emily Motill earning 26th (2:13.75).
 
 
200 Back 
Grace Grzybek placed fourth in the A Final by touching the wall in 2:02.63. She swam faster in the prelims (2:02.51), just missing her own school record. 
Carolyn McGrail (2:12.73), Sofie Camarillo (2:14.00), 
Sadie Texer (2:09.13), Jacque Goetz (2:11.50), and 
Rachel Burke (2:14.19) all added BIG EAST qualifying times.
 
 
100 Free
Top performances in the 100 free included swims from 
Tori Horton and 
Abbie Linek. Horton placed 22nd in C-Final with a time of 53.13. Linek placed 34
th with a time of 54.12.
 
 
400 Free Relay 
The B Relay team placed 21st for Butler in the 400 Free. The A Relay was disqualified for a jump start. Davies led the B Relay at 55.64. She joined Gurry, Harris and Linek to clock a time of 3:41.85.
