Alcohol Now Available for Purchase at Butler Men’s Basketball Home Games

Alcohol will now be available for purchase at Butler men's basketball games at Hinkle Fieldhouse, beginning with the Bulldogs' game against Saint Louis on Saturday, Dec. 2. Upland, Miller-Coors, and Anheuser-Busch products will be offered.

Alcohol service will commence when doors open, and will end at the 12-minute media timeout of the second half for men's basketball games.

Alcohol will only be available at permanent concession stands and select temporary concession locations.

All persons purchasing alcohol will have their ID checked by an alcohol vendor prior to the sale being completed and in accordance with Butler Dining Services policies and procedures. There is a limit of two beers per transaction.

Alcohol served in the Hinkle Fieldhouse hospitality areas (Wildman Room, Efroymson Family Gym, etc.) is not allowed to leave that respective hospitality area.

Additionally, Butler students 21 and over wanting to consume alcohol in the student section must have their ID checked at the student checkpoint located at the student-entrance and receive a wristband. Students with a wristband may only purchase or be in possession of one beer at any given time. No student may purchase alcohol or bring it into the student section without a wristband. Security will continue to be present at each access point to the student section to ensure compliance with the wristband policy.

Student procedures were established in conjunction with the university's Office of Student Affairs, Police Department and Butler Dining Services.

Similar procedures will be followed for other Butler athletics events where alcohol is sold.

Butler University wants to be recognized within the State of Indiana, and nationally for its good sportsmanship by our student-athletes, coaches and spectators.
