Godlevske Inks a Pair of Recruits for 2018-19

INDIANAPOLIS – Ellen Ross and Emilia Sexton will join the Butler women's basketball program next season, an announcement made by Head Coach Kurt Godlevske Friday afternoon. Each student-athlete signed a national letter of intent. Ross is a 5-11 forward from Fort Wayne Ind., and Sexton is a 5-4 guard from Louisville, Ky.

Ellen Ross
Ross is a 5-11 forward with scoring versatility and hustle along the boards. She posted an All-SAC season while averaging 15.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per game. Ross was named team captain and was named Bishop Dwenger's Girls Basketball Player of the Year. During her junior season, Ross scored 337 total points, pulled down 211 rebounds, and dished out 40 assists. Ross has been a varsity contributor since her freshman year, not missing a game in her first two seasons.

Coach Godlevske is excited for Ross to join the Butler program. "I want to welcome Ellen to the Butler family!  Ellen is a perfect fit for our system. She can defend multiple positions. Offensively she has size and can put the ball on the floor. She is a hard-nosed, physical player."

Emilia Sexton
Sexton is a 5'4 guard from Louisville Male High School in Louisville, Ky. She averaged 13.8 points per game as a junior. She once made 41 three-pointers in the Seventh Region Tournament. Sexton was an All-Seventh Region and All-State selection last season, as well as a 2016-17 Courier-Journal Metro Louisville All-Area Girls Basketball Second Team.

Coach Godlevske is thrilled Sexton chose to be a Bulldog. "First thing I noticed about Emilia is her passion and love for the game. She always is getting extra shots and ball handling in. The second thing is she can score in multiple ways. She's a player that will complement our system because you have to guard her."
