Five Bulldogs were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Great Lakes Region Teams, as announced by the association Friday, Dec. 1. Coaches within the region voted for the teams.
Eric Dick and
Brandon Guhl earned first-team honors, while
Isaac Galliford (second team),
Joe Moulden (third team) and
Lewis Suddick (third team) also represented Butler on the all-region lists.
The five players led Butler to a 14-5-2 overall record, a BIG EAST regular season championship, and an appearance in the NCAA Third Round.
Dick was previously named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year while also earning All-BIG EAST first team honors. He had a BIG EAST-best nine shutouts on the season, posting a 0.94 goals against average and .820 save percentage.
Guhl led the BIG EAST with 13 goals this season and was named the conference's Co-Offensive Player of the Year in addition to landing a spot on the conference's first team. That included five game-winning goals. In NCAA Tournament play, Guhl scored both goals in the 2-0 win over Lipscomb in the first round before netting the game-winner at VCU in the second round.
Galliford finished third on the team in scoring with 13 points (three goals and seven assists).
Moulden anchored a Butler defense that posted nine shutouts on the season. He also scored two goals and added an assist. Moulden was selected to the BIG EAST's second team by the conference's head coaches.
Suddick scored six goals and added eight assists in 17 matches. He also earned All-BIG EAST first team honors.
The United Soccer Coaches will announce All-America Teams on December 7.
