Erik Peterson set another Butler record with a time of 13:40.90 in the 5,000 meters, finishing third in the fastest 5k in the world in 2017 at the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington. Peterson's time finished the day as the No. 4 mark in the world.
Peterson was not the only Bulldog to perform well out West.
Olivia Anderson set a Butler record in the mile, crossing the finish line in a time of 4:39.64.
Josephine Thestrup registered a time of 4:50.88 in the same event.
Johnny Leverenz won his section of the 800 meters, turning in a mark of 1:51.14.
Bobby Johnson (8:08.27) and
Jacob Priddey (8:17.91) each posted a lifetime-best in the 3,000 meters.
Senior
Olivia Pratt ran 16:19.98 in her 5k. Maddie Westerhoff finished sixth in her section of the 5,000 meters (17:00.86).
At the Hoosiers Hills meet hosted by Indiana University,
Allie Vogeler ran a personal-best time of 57.95 in the 400 meters, while
Sam Robinson won the long jump, launching himself 6.78 meters.
The final meet of the indoor season leading into the BIG EAST Championships is the Orange and Blue Open hosted by the University of Illinois Saturday (Feb. 18).
