In the Bulldogs' final competition prior to the 2017 BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships, a portion of the Butler roster traveled to the University of Illinois for the Orange and Blue Open Saturday afternoon.

Allie Vogeler placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58.04. Clare McCabe's time of 10:34.21 was good for third in the 3,000 meters.

On the men's side, Euan Makepeace was second in the 800 meters, clocking a time of 1:54.74. Tim Vestuto placed fifth in both the 60 meters and the 200 meters.

Sophomore Sam Robinson won the long jump with a leap of just over 22 feet. He also placed fourth in the triple jump. Dakota Thompson tied for third in the high jump.

The BIG EAST Championships begin Friday and run through Saturday in Staten Island, N.Y.
