Sophomore Aviv Ben Shabat's impressive week of play earned him BIG EAST Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week honors as announced by the conference office Feb. 22.

Ben Shabat joins senior Mikheil Khmiadashvili (Feb. 8) in earning two of the three weekly awards so far this season.

The sophomore finished 3-1 in Butler's two matches against Cleveland State and DePauw last week. In action against Cleveland State, Ben Shabat won at No. 1 singles over Nico Mostardi in three sets, and teamed with Ari Gerstein for a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles. In the Bulldogs 7-2 win over DePauw, Ben Shabat won at No. 1 singles over Dan Rodefeld in three sets.

Butler is 6-2 on the season. The Bulldogs return to action Saturday, traveling to Eastern Kentucky.
