EAST MEADOW, N.Y. – The Bulldogs set five new school records over the final two days of competition at the 2017 BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championship Meet. Those times helped BU record 189 total points, placing Butler sixth overall.
Tori Horton highlighted the third day of competition by reaching the A Final in the 100 Backstroke. She finished seventh and set a new school record with a time of 56.66.
Grace Grzybek also competed in the 100 Backstroke for Butler in the B Final. Her time of 56.98 placed her in ninth.
The second school record to fall on Friday came after
Audrey Gosnell swam in the 200 Freestyle. Gosnell touched the wall at 1:53.32 and placed 12th in the B Final. Yet another Bulldog to reach the B Final in her respective event was
Rebecca Duncan who placed 12th in the 100 Breaststroke. She finished the race in 1:07.10.

Tori Horton represented Butler's 400 Medley Relay team. The unit placed fifth with a time of 3:56.13.
The final day of competition featured Grzybek smashing the school record in the 200 Backstroke. Grzybek placed fifth overall in the A Final with a time of 2:02.13. The old record was 2:06.14.
Gosnell appeared for Butler in the B Final of the 100 Freestyle and set a new school record with a time of 51.78. She placed 10th overall, beating the old school record by nearly a full second. Horton was also involved in the 100 Free for BU. She finished 14th with a time of 52.50.
The third school record to fall on Saturday came in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The Bulldogs finished fifth in the event with a time of 3:28.57.
Rebecca Duncan put in a strong performance in the 200 Breaststroke for BU on Saturday. She placed 16th in the B Final with a time of 2:30.61.
