Butler seniors
Erik Peterson and
Olivia Pratt are among the student-athletes who have qualified for the upcoming NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. The championships will be held March 10 and 11 in College Station, Texas.

The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Committee announced the participants that will compete in the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships late Tuesday (Feb. 28) evening.

Peterson has qualified in both the 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters after winning both events at last weekend's BIG EAST Championships. His time of 7:51.21 is seeded eighth in the 16-runner field for the 3,000 meters. He enters the 5,000 meters with the nation's fourth-fastest time (13:40.90). Peterson is among five men who will run the double at the 2017 Indoor Championships.

With the indoor championships limiting events to only 16 participants nationally, Pratt was able to grab the 16
th spot with a time of 15:57.41.

Butler joins Oregon as the only two schools to have both a male and female runner in the 5,000 meters final.

ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 10 starting at 6:25 p.m. Eastern time and March 11 starting at 4:55 p.m. Eastern time. A re-air of the championship will take place on Sunday, March 12 starting at 7 p.m. Eastern time on ESPN2.
