Butler's senior duo of
Erik Peterson and
Olivia Pratt competed against the nation's best Friday evening at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on the campus of Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
In the women's 5,000 meters, Pratt finished tenth. She posted a lifetime-best time of 15:56.64. Missouri's Karissa Schweizer raced by several of her competitors in the last lap to take the win in a time of 15:19.14.
The men took to the track next. Peterson led the race at times and finished sixth with a time of 13:49.83. Oregon's Edward Cheserek won the event in 13:41.20.
Peterson completes his 5k-3k double Saturday, running the 3,000 meters.
