Box Score
INDIANAPOLIS – The Saint Louis Billikens avoided a sweep on Sunday afternoon by pulling off a 4-2 win over Butler to post their 15th win of the season. After taking two of three, the Bulldogs sit at 11-7 overall.

The trend on Sunday would feature Butler scoring one run, followed by Saint Louis scoring two. BU jumped on the scoreboard first with single run in the second, but the Billikens took the lead with two in the top of three.

Butler climbed back to tie the game at 2-2 with a run in the bottom of the fifth, but a two-run sixth inning would prove to be the difference giving SLU the 4-2 victory.

Garrett Christman and
Harrison Freed picked up RBI's for Butler while
Gehrig Parker and
Michael DiViesti led the team in the hit column with two each. BU recorded eight total hits compared to seven from Saint Louis, but were unable to pull off a comeback like they had in the previous two meetings.

The first BU run was scored by
Michael Hartnagel off a hard hit ball from Freed. Hartnagel singled to lead off the second and would move to third after a base hit from Parker. Parker was thrown out trying to reach second, but his aggressive decision wouldn't stop BU from grabbing the early lead.

The third inning featured an RBI single from Case and a sac fly from King to give SLU the slim 2-1 lead.

Action picked back up in the fifth inning with Butler loading the bases. Christman crushed a ball back up the middle that hit pitcher Jackson Wark to score the lone run of the inning. Hartnagel would follow in the order, but wouldn't be able to help the cause as a wild pitch would actually help the Billikens get out of the inning.

Wark missed bad to the outside part of the plate and the wild pitch would squeeze by catcher Ryan Hernandez. Jarosz hesitated initially on third, then broke for home. The play at the plate would be close but Hernandez got the ball to Wark just in time for the tag.

Saint Louis would take that momentum into the top half of the sixth and get two runs off three hits highlighted by an RBI double from Robinson.

Wark would toss seven full innings before leaving the mound with five strikeouts and just two earned runs off seven hits. The setup man today was Sean Frontzak who threw a perfect eighth inning. Ryan Lefner then entered the game for the save in the ninth.

The Bulldogs will play two midweek games at Bulldog Park before traveling to Athens, Ohio for a three-game series against the Bobcats. BU will host DePauw on Tuesday and Lewis on Wednesday. Each game begins with a 4 PM first pitch.
