Butler finished ninth at the Babs Steffens Collegiate, hosted by Stetson. Play concluded Monday with the final 18 holes of the 54-hole event.
 
The Bulldogs' three-round total of 931 included rounds of 316, 308 and 307, as the team got better each day. Butler finished 67-over par.
 
St. Leo (+16) won the event, followed by Boston University and Stetson. The tournament, held in DeLand, Fla., featured an 11-team field.
 
Abigail Gleixner paced the Bulldogs, finishing the event in a tie for sixth. She climbed five spots during Monday's final round. She shot an even-par 72 Monday on the 5,907-yard Victoria Hills Golf Club. She shot 76 and 74 over the first two rounds for a three-round total of 222 (+6).
 
St. Leo's Amanda Jakobsson and Marie Coors went 1-2 in the event, shooting 212 (-4) and 213 (-3), respectively.
 
Lauren Tibbets tied for 32^nd, shooting 232 (78-78-76). Rachel Gathof (236, T-42nd), Kelsey McDougall (244, T-52nd), and Betsy Werner (248, 56th) rounded out the Butler five.
 
The Bulldogs return to action April 9 at the Indiana State Invitational. That two-day event is followed quickly by the Big Four Classic at Crooked Stick Golf Club on April 11.
