Butler signees Kyle Young and Cooper Neese will participate in this weekend's American Family Insurance® 2017 Slam Dunk and Three-point Contest as part of Final Four weekend in the greater Phoenix area.
The event will be held on Friday, March 31, and then will air on CBS on Sunday, April 2 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
Young will participate in the slam dunk contest, while Neese will shoot in the three-point competition. Each category includes eight competitors.
Young and Neese are part of Butler's incoming recruiting class, which is ranked as the best in program history. Both are expected to arrive on campus this summer.
For the second consecutive season, Young earned Associated Press Division I All-Ohio first-team honors. He led his Jackson High School team in Massillon, Ohio, to the state championship. Young was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
Neese scored 2,496 career points for Cloverdale High School, the seventh-best total in Indiana history.
The Bulldogs, coming off a 25-9 season that included a Sweet 16 appearance, will mix the recruiting class into a roster that includes six returning letterwinners from this season as well as transfer
Paul Jorgensen, and
Joey Brunk, who played seven games early in the season before filing for a hardship waiver due to a family medical issue.
