Butler completed its Spring Break trip with a strong finish as the men took the team title at the Bulldog Florida Invitational, while the women placed fourth. Both fields had nine teams. The tournament was played at Windsor Parke in Jacksonville, Fla., over the past two days.
Patrick Allgeier tied for second with a two-round score of 146 (+2). His round of 70 on Thursday tied for the low round of the day, following his 76 on Wednesday.
Hunter Byram finished in a tie for fourth with rounds of 76 and 71 (147, +3).
As a team, Butler started the second day in fifth place and moved all the way to the front of the pack to post a six-stroke win over Evansville. The Bulldogs improved their Wednesday score of 309 to 287 on Thursday. Butler entered the day trailing Detroit by 11 strokes.
This is the second straight win for the Bulldogs, who also captured the Benbow Invitational that was played in Jacksonville on Monday and Tuesday.
Butler's women finished fourth.
Lauren Tibbets tied for second with rounds of 78 and 74 for an eight-over 152. Eilidh Watson of Stetson won the event at 147 (+3).
Stetson won the team title at 616 (+40).
