Former Butler quarterback Matt Shiltz will take his talents to the Canada Football League after signing a contract with the Montreal Alouettes.
Shiltz earned All-PFL Second Team honors his final year playing for the Bulldogs. A starter all 11 games of the 2015 season, the quarterback led the team and PFL with 3,352 total yards. Schlitz's statistics stood out on a national scale, recording 304.7 yards per game, good for fifth across the country in total offense. The same year, he was 15
th in the FCS with 2,713 passing yards and 21
st in the FCS with 19 touchdowns.
In 2014, Shiltz started in six games before suffering a season-ending hand injury. At the time, he was ranked in the top ten total offense nationally. He passed for 1,329 yards and tallied 10 touchdowns.
The St. Charles, Ill., native was First-Team Academic All-PFL selection in 2015 and 2014. He was a member of the PFL Academic Honor Roll all five years at Butler. In 29 career games, he passed for 4,042 total yards.
