Scouting (RV) Temple
The Owls erased a two-goal halftime deficit last weekend against Villanova to come back and pick up their fourth-straight BIG EAST win after posting a 13-11 victory at Howarth Field. The team is now 11-2 overall with one of the two losses coming in conference place. Temple lost at Princeton during the non-conference schedule and dropped their conference opener at Denver 14-6.
They have showed toughness over their previous four games by winning in overtime vs. Marquette (17-16), and posting a pair of 11-9 wins over both Georgetown and Cincinnati.
Butler will need to slow down Brenda McDermott in order to upset the Owls. McDermott has 28 goals and 29 assists in just 13 games to post 57 points. Three other players all have 20 goals or more with two other student-athletes sitting at 19.
Temple averages 12 goals per game and allow just 11. Their top goalie is Maryn Lowell, a freshman that has 81 saves this season. Lowell is 8-1 on the year while backup Kelsea Hershey has been the goalie in three wins.
