INDIANAPOLIS – Head Coach
Kurt Godlevske is pleased to announce the signing of 6-0 guard/forward Alisha Aube. A native of Westbrook, Maine; Aube will join the Bulldogs for the upcoming 2017-18 season.
"I am excited to welcome Alisha to the Bulldog family," Godlevske stated. "Alisha is an outstanding student and competitor. She also comes from a great family."
A four-year starter at Thornton Academy High School, Aube averaged 18 points, five rebounds and three assists during her senior campaign. She became just the second player in Thornton Academy history to score 1,000 points in her career. In total, Aube scored 1,246 points in just 74 games.
A 2017 Maine McDonald's All-Star Team participant, Aube was a four-time all-conference selection that was also named Portland Press Herald All-State as a junior and senior. The two-time team captain was the 2015 conference scoring champion by averaging over 18 points per game.
"Alisha has size and is a serious perimeter threat," Godlevske added. "Her skill set is going to complement our current players and help stretch defenses. Alisha can guard multiple positions which will help us become more versatile. I couldn't be more excited she chose to be a Bulldog!"
Career-high totals for Aube while attending Thornton Academy include 31 points vs. Biddeford, 14 rebounds vs. Scarborough and seven assists against Mt. Ararat. Off the court she is a member of the National Honor Society. Aube also was named to the 2017 Basketball SMAA Conference All-Academic Team.
"I chose Butler because it was the best fit academically and athletically for me," Aube said. "The coaching staff and team were so welcoming. It felt like a home away from home."
