Butler concluded the home portion of its 2017 schedule with a Sunday contest against Iowa. Prior to the match, the Bulldogs recognized seniors
Mikheil Khmiadashvili and
Alex Woldmoe for their contributions to the program over the past four seasons.

The teams agreed to begin with singles matches and Iowa won four of the courts to clinch the match. The doubles matches were not played as the Hawkeyes took a 4-0 win. Two of the six singles matches went unfinished as those courts were in the third set as the match was clinched.

Khmiadishvili also extended his match to a third set, but fell in the deciding set to Iowa's Jonas Larsen.

Mason Dragos, and
Adrian Mag dropped decisions Sunday night.
Spencer Lang (No. 4) and
Ari Gerstein (No. 5) were in the third set when the match was clinched.

Butler is now 14-5 on the season.

Iowa is 12-13 on the season. The Hawkeyes began Sunday with a match at Indiana.

The Bulldogs conclude the regular season Saturday (April 22) with a Noon match at Xavier. The BIG EAST contest is the last match prior to the 2017 BIG EAST Championships in Cayce, S.C.
