Butler won the Jaguar/Crusader Challenge at the Trophy Club in Lebanon, Ind. The eight-team event utilized a team match play format. Play concluded Monday afternoon.

The Bulldogs defeated host IUPUI, 3-2, in the championship match Monday.

Abigail Gleixner won her match at the No. 2 spot, 3&2, against Erin Ingram.
Kelsey McDougall (2up) and
Rachel Gathof (3&2) won their respective matches at the No. 3 and No. 4 positions, respectively, as Butler clinched the event title.

Opening team pairings were determined with a blind draw at the coaches meeting on Saturday evening. From there, it was played as a bracketed, eight-team format.

Butler advanced to Monday's championship match with a 4-1 win over Valparaiso in Sunday's semifinals.
Lauren Tibbets defeated Angie Kim, 4&3, at the No. 1 spot. Gleixner (3&2 at No. 2), McDougall (4&3 at No. 3), and freshman
Betsy Werner (1up at No. 5) were the four victorious Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs drew Rend Lake for Sunday's opening quarterfinal match. Butler took the match, 5-0.

Western Illinois defeated Valparaiso, 4-1, in the third-place match, while Dayton took fifth with a 3.5-1.5 win over Detroit, and Rend Lake defeated Green Bay, 3-2, for seventh.

The Bulldogs next travel to Callawassie Island, S.C., for the 2017 BIG EAST Championships. The 54-hole event is scheduled for Friday through Sunday. The Bulldogs will look to improve on a fourth-place finish in the 2016 event. Six BIG EAST teams will tee off in the event.
