Butler sophomore earned BIG EAST Men's Track Athlete of the Week honors following his weekend performance in California. The BIG EAST made the announcement late Tuesday (April 18). 

This is Makepeace's second weekly recognition of the season. He also received BIG EAST honors during the first week of the outdoor season. Teammate Erik Peterson has earned two of the BIG EAST's weekly awards.

Makepeace finished fourth in the first section of the men's 5,000 meters at the Mt. SAC Relays in California, collecting a lifetime best of 14:03.88. His time leads the league, is ninth in the East and 44th in the NCAA.
