Butler continued its outdoor season Saturday at the Illinois Twilight, hosted by the University of Illinois in Urbana, Ill. More than 10 teams gathered for the evening event.
Allie Vogeler won the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 1:01.26. That was just .05 off her school record. Vogeler was also almost two seconds better than the next finisher.
Freshman
Wade Walder placed third in the javelin, posting a distance of 51.03m. It was his first time competing in the javelin at Butler.
Walder was seventh in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking a time of 15.54. He also placed seventh in the 400-meter hurdles (58.43).
Jonathan Collier's time of 9:45.56 was good for sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Dakota Thompson tied for fifth in the high jump, crossing the bar at 1.85m.
Sam Robinson was eighth in the triple jump at 13.82m.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday (April 29), traveling to Ohio to participate in Miami's Redhawk Invitational.
Butler is preparing for the BIG EAST Championships, which will take place May 12-13 in Philadelphia.
