Butler closed the 2017 season with a win, taking down conference foe Providence, 4-1, in a consolation match of the BIG EAST Championships Friday afternoon in Cayce, S.C.

The Friars won the doubles point before the Bulldogs responded with four straight-set singles win to post the team victory.

Bailey Padgett were the first two BU players to register wins, on the No. 6 and No. 1 courts, respectively. At that point in the match, two of Butler's seniors then closed out the match as
Jocelyn Koester and
Kailey Eaton won their matches at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots to clinch the team win.
