The Bulldogs continued their preparation for next month's BIG EAST Championships, sending a portion of the roster to Oxford, Ohio Saturday for the Redhawk Invitational, hosted by Miami (Ohio).
Sophomore
Allie Vogeler ran a school-record time of 57.13 in the 400 meters. She placed fifth in the event. It is her third school mark, joining times in the 400-meter hurdles and the 200 meters.
Senior
Colleen Weatherford won the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 11:30.22. Her time was nearly a minute faster than the next competitor.
Indiana's Kellie Davis just edged
Josephine Thestrup at the line of the 800 meters. Thestrup's time of 2:13.53 was just .12 seconds behind Davis as the Butler freshman placed an impressive second.
Sophomore
Sam Robinson won the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.95m (6' 4.75").
The Bulldogs competed against athletes from host Miami (Ohio), Indiana, Xavier, Wright State, and other universities.
Butler returns to action Friday (May 5) with a majority of the roster traveling to Indiana University for the Billy Hayes Invitational. A smaller group will travel to the Payton Jordan Invitational at Stanford.
