In a decision made earlier in the week, Butler sent several student-athletes across town for the Marian Knight Open.
Sophomore
Allie Vogeler won the 200 meters with a time of 25.28. The time set a new Butler record, breaking the previous mark of 25.97 by Kelly Davidson in 2012. It was one of the first times that Vogeler had run the event. She already owns the Butler record in the 400-meter hurdles.
Dakota Thompson's jump of 1.90 meters in the high jump trailed only the leap of 1.95 meters by Marian's Jonathon Greene. Thompson was one of four athletes to post a 1.90.
Grace Butkus ran a 5:14.55 in the 1,500 meters. She placed 18
th in the event.
Elaine Warner competed in the shot put, finishing 22
nd with a throw of 8.74 meters.
The Bulldogs return to action next weekend. A majority of the Butler roster will travel to Muncie, Ind., for the Ball State Challenge. A smaller portion of the squad will travel West for the Mt. SAC Relays and Asuza Pacific Invitational in California.
