Butler improved to 14-4 on the season with a BIG EAST win over Marquette Sunday afternoon in Indianapolis. The Bulldogs took the match, 6-1. Marquette is now 13-6 on the season.

The win avenges a loss to Marquette last season. Butler is now 2-1 against BIG EAST foes this season.

The Bulldogs opened the match by claiming the doubles point. Of the six singles matches, four were decided in the third set. Butler won all four of those matches.

Spencer Lang won his match at No. 4 singles in straight sets. Ari Gerstein took his match in three sets at No. 5 singles, giving Butler a 3-1 lead. Mason Dragos (No. 2) then clinched the match, winning 4-6, 7-6, 6-1.

Aviv Ben Shabat and Mikheil Khmiadashvili then posted wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively, to push the match to 6-1.

Butler takes its final break from BIG EAST play by hosting Iowa on April 16. The match will serve as Senior Day for the Bulldogs.
