Senior
Joey Arcuri finished tied for second at the 2017 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship. Arcuri shot his second consecutive 74 to finish the 54-hole event at 218 (+2). He was among three players at two-over, two shots being Marquette's Matt Bachman (216, E).
As a team, Butler tied for sixth with a three-round total of 934 (+70). Marquette took the team title at 899 (+35), one shot better than Seton Hall and two shots better than Georgetown. Marquette will earn the BIG EAST's bid to the 2017 NCAA Championships.
Arcuri's finish follows his performance from 2016 when he tied for seventh.
Freshman
Patrick Allgeier tied for seventh at eight-over 224. He shot 79 (+7) Tuesday.
Butler tied with Creighton for sixth at 934. The Bulldogs posted a score of 321 Tuesday. DePaul, which led the event after 36 holes, finished fourth at 908 (+44), followed by Xavier at 931 (+67). Villanova and St. John's finished eighth and ninth, respectively.
Hunter Byram shot nine-over 81 Tuesday and finished in a tie for 26
th at 237 (+21).
Michael Denner finished at 260 for the championship. He shot 87 on Tuesday.
Gehrig Hollatz was disqualified for Tuesday's round after shooting 85 and 83 for the first two rounds.
Seton Hall's duo of Lloyd Jefferson Go and Gen Nagai tied Arcuri for second as the teams played the Callawassie Island Golf Course. Marquette and Georgetown each had a player post a day-best three-under 69 Tuesday as those teams shot 286 and 285, respectively, to climb to the top of the leaderboard.
This is the final event of the season for the Bulldogs.
