2017 Roster

2017 Schedule

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Butler women's soccer program will open the 2017 season at the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl after posting an 11-7-2 record and going 4-4-1 in BIG EAST play last year. The fall schedule features eleven home games, including two exhibition contests beginning in August.

Butler kicks off the season with a home exhibition contest on Aug. 8 against Big 10 opponent Northwestern. The Wildcats are coming off their program's most successful season since 1988 and made an NCAA tournament run before falling in the Round of 16.

The regular season begins on the road this year against ACC regular-season champions and nationally-ranked Notre Dame. The Bulldogs will face the Fighting Irish on August 18 and continue with life on the road by playing games at Ohio and Michigan State.

The 2017 home opener will be played on Aug. 27 against Bowling Green. The Bulldogs will also host Eastern Michigan and Cleveland State on Sept. 1 and Sept. 3 respectively, before moving down south for a night game at Texas A&M on Sept. 8.

The final two non-conference games on the upcoming schedule includes a pair of in-state rivals. Butler will host Indiana State on Sept. 17 and make the trip downtown to play IUPUI on Sept. 20.

BIG EAST play opens in the Bud and Jackie Sellick Bowl against Marquette on Sept. 24. The conference schedule features home games against Xavier, St. John's, Villanova and BIG EAST Champions Georgetown. Marquette and Georgetown earned NCAA tournament berths after facing off for the conference title last year.

BIG EAST road trips will have Butler playing at Seton Hall, Providence, DePaul and Creighton.

A matchup against Villanova on Oct. 26 concludes the regular season. The top six teams qualify for BIG EAST postseason action with the top two teams receiving a bye. Campus sites will be used throughout the tournament this year with the higher-seed hosting the action.

Butler returns three out of four players honored with All-BIG EAST recognition last year. Shannon McDevitt was named Second Team while Kyra Cooke and goalkeeper Hannah Luedtke will continue to anchor Butler' defense after being named All-Freshmen. Offensively, the team will look to juniors Halle Stelbasky and Paige Monaghan after strong seasons in 2016.
