Peterson Named All-American, Makepeace Tabbed Honorable Mention

NEW ORLEANS
– All-Americans for the 2017 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field season were announced Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). Erik Peterson was recognized as an All-American for the sixth time in his career after his third place finish for Butler in the 10,000-meter run. Euan Makepeace earned honorable mention accolades after competing in the 5,000-meter run.
 
First-team honors went to those athletes from individual events and relay teams that finished 1st through 8th, while those who finished 9th through 16th nabbed second-team billing. Honorable mention was given to those who finished 17th through 24th.
 
The most first-team honors for any program went to Texas A&M's men with 16. Three programs nabbed 12 first-team honors and they're all from the SEC: Arkansas, Auburn and Florida.
