Butler comes in at No. 25 in the in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason Poll, which was announced on Thursday.
 
United Soccer Coaches is the new brand identity of the NSCAA. The name change was included in an announcement on Wednesday, Aug. 2.
 
The Bulldogs won the 2016 BIG EAST tournament championship and entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 15 overall seed. The Bulldogs ended the season ranked No. 18 in the poll with a 13-5-2 record.
 
Coach Paul Snape's Bulldogs return nine starters from a season ago.
 
Butler joins Providence and Creighton as BIG EAST representatives in the poll.
