Sophomore
Patrick Allgeier posted a four-under 68 in Monday's second round at the Badger Invitational, leading the Butler effort at the event hosted by the University of Wisconsin. The final round Tuesday includes a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start.
Allgeier's round included a five-under front nine, featuring a 2 on the par-4 seventh hole. After a double bogey on No. 10, Allgeier put together a string of pars before birdying two of his final three holes.
Ricky Kuiper shot a three-over 75, while
Logan Sabins carded a 76 (+4).
Michael Denner (78; +6) and
Michael Cascino (80; +8) rounded out the Butler scoring.
The Bulldogs shot a team score of 297 (+9) Monday after a five-over 293 in Sunday's action. Butler is tied for tenth (590; +14) among the 16 teams, falling back one spot in the standings from their position at the start of the day.
Sabins and Cascino each shot 71 in Sunday's opening round.
Texas A&M's Chandler Phillips leads the event at 136 behind rounds of 66 and 70. Allgeier and Sabins, at three-over 147 through two rounds, are the top-performing Bulldogs, tied for 34
th individually. Kuiper is one stroke behind them.
Texas A&M leads the event at 560 (-16) after shooting a four-under team total on Monday's round.
The 54-hole event is hosted by the University of Wisconsin at the par-72, 7,259-yard University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, Wis.
