Butler's 18 BIG EAST games, along with tip times and television assignments for all games, have been announced by the BIG EAST. The announcement from the Conference office was made Tuesday, Sept. 12.

All of the Bulldogs' regular season and BIG EAST Tournament games will once again be televised nationally. The schedule is highlighted by three contests on FOX (vs. Purdue, Dec. 16; at Villanova, Feb. 10; and vs. Providence, Feb. 17). Butler's home game against Villanova on Dec. 30 will air nationally on CBS. On Saturday, March 3, the last day of the regular season, FOX will have a tripleheader of Wild Card selections starting at noon; Butler's road game at Seton Hall could be part of that tripleheader.

The Bulldogs open the BIG EAST slate on Wednesday, Dec. 27 at Georgetown in a match-up of the conference's two new head coaches – LaVall Jordan and Georgetown's Patrick Ewing. Butler welcomes Villanova to Hinkle Fieldhouse Saturday, Dec. 30 in the first of its nine BIG EAST contests at Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Five of the Bulldogs' first eight BIG EAST games are on the road, a stretch that ends at DePaul on Saturday, Jan. 20. Following seven days off, Butler hosts St. John's Saturday, Jan. 27. That completes the first round of games against conference foes. Beginning with that game against St. John's, six of the next eight are at Hinkle Fieldhouse, capped by Senior Night on Tuesday, Feb. 20 against Creighton. The Bulldogs then have another seven days off before road games at St. John's and Seton Hall to conclude the regular season.

Butler's home BIG EAST schedule includes five Saturdays, one Friday night, and three Tuesday evening contests. Butler and six other BIG EAST teams made the NCAA Tournament field in 2017.

At least 16 of Butler's games will air on BIG EAST partner FS1, which will also broadcast a majority of the BIG EAST Tournament. CBS Sports Network will air three Butler contests, with additional games on FS2, Fox Sports Network affiliates, and FOX College Sports. The PK80 Invitational in Portland, Ore., over Thanksgiving weekend will air on the ESPN family of networks.

FOX and FS1 again will serve as the television home of the BIG EAST Tournament at Madison Square Garden on March 7-10.  Held at the World's Most Famous Arena for the 36th consecutive year, the event is college basketball's longest running postseason conference tourney conducted at the same venue.  The FOX broadcast network will carry the Championship game at 6:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 10.  All other rounds will be telecast on FS1.

Season tickets for the 2017-18 campaign are on sale now. The Bulldogs' 2017-18 home schedule features 19 contests, including all nine BIG EAST opponents. Fans interested in purchasing season tickets can contact the Butler Athletics Ticket Office at (317) 940-DOGS or tickets@butler.edu. Information on Mini-plan packages and single-game tickets (if available) will be available soon.

After leading Butler to conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances as both a player and assistant coach, LaVall Jordan returns to his alma mater as the program's 24th head coach. He inherits a talented roster that finished the 2016-17 season with a 25-9 record, advancing to the sixth Sweet 16 in program history. The Bulldogs earned their highest NCAA Tournament seed in program history on the heels of a second-place finish in the BIG EAST standings. Leading scorer and All-BIG EAST selection Kelan Martin returns alongside starters Tyler Wideman and Kamar Baldwin. That trio will join an experienced group of returners and a highly-touted recruiting class.
