Visiting Cincinnati registered a 7-0 win over Butler Sunday morning at the West Indy Racquet Club in Indianapolis. The result places Butler at 0-2 on the young season.
Senior
Bailey Padgett pushed her match at No. 1 singles to a third-set match tiebreaker. The Bearcats' Ioana Guna took the first set 6-2 before Padgett rallied to win a tiebreaker in the second set. Guna won the match tiebreaker by a score of 10-5.
Freshman
Emily Neal fell, 7-5, 6-3, at the No. 3 singles spot in the most competitive of the straight-set matches.
Butler returns to action Saturday in Bloomington, Ind., playing a neutral-site match to Western Michigan followed by a contest with Indiana.
