Butler and head coach
Jeff Voris have announced the Butler football schedule for the 2018 season. The season is highlighted by five home games, including four Pioneer Football League contests.
Butler will make their debut at the Sellick Bowl on Saturday, Sep. 15, hosting Ivy League opponent Princeton.
"The Bulldogs are looking forward to another challenging schedule this season," Voris said. "We are especially excited for our home schedule which includes Princeton and four great PFL contests. Can't wait to see everyone back in the Sellick Bowl this fall."
Conference play begins Sep. 29 for the Bulldogs against Morehead State. That is the first of four home PFL games in Indianapolis. The Bulldogs will host 2017 PFL champion San Diego on Oct. 20. The following Saturday, Dayton makes the short trip to Indianapolis to face the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs will play their final game at the Sellick Bowl on Nov. 10 against Stetson.
The Bulldogs open their season on the road, traveling to Youngstown State on Sept. 1 and Taylor on Sept. 8. Butler and Youngstown State last played in 2014, while the Bulldogs and Taylor have played annually since 2014.
Butler will travel to Drake and Valparaiso on Oct. 6 and 13, respectively. Other road trips include conference foe Jacksonville on Nov. 3, and Davidson Nov. 17 to wrap up their season.
Butler returns a number of key contributors for the 2018 season.
Pace Temple, a unanimous First-Team All-PFL selection, registered 65 catches for 1,075 yards as a junior, becoming just the fourth Bulldog in program history to go over 1,000 yards in a season.
Sophomore
Drew Bevelhimer, another All-PFL First-Team selection, made 16 of his 21 field goal attempts this season.
Coach Voris and the Bulldogs are coming off 6-5 campaign, the fourth winning season in the last six years. Â
