The Butler Lacrosse team took a 12-2 loss at Michigan on Friday afternoon to open their season. The Bulldogs scored two goals in the second half but it wasn't enough to come back from a 7-0 deficit at halftime.
The first ten minutes of the match were scoreless until Michigan's Kirby Chandler scored at the 20:45 mark. From there, Michigan scored their next six goals in the last 15 minutes of the first half.
Michigan scored three goals in three minutes to start the second half until
Karina Latsko scored Butler's first goal of the season on a free position attempt. The Wolverines would answer with a goal of their own on a free position attempt to make the score 11-1 with 20:18 to play.
With 12:52 to play, Michigan would score again to take the lead 12-1.
Morgan Paige would score the Bulldogs' final goal in the closing minutes on another free position attempt to end the game 12-2.
The Bulldogs return to action with their first home match of the season on Feb. 22 when they host Louisville at Varsity Field. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
