In the final indoor tune-up prior to the BIG EAST Championships, the Bulldogs traveled to the University of Illinois for the Orange and Blue Open.
The Bulldogs were joined at the meet by the host Fighting Illini, Northern Illinois, Illinois State, and Western Illinois.
The Bulldogs swept the podium in the long jump with
Wade Walder (6.62m) winning the event.
Richard Clark and
Luke Russell placed second and third, respectively.
Jake Kellersohn won the 200 meters in a time of 22.45. Kellersohn was also fifth in the 60 meters (7.11).
Kyle Harris ran a time of 1:23.68 to win the 600 meters.
Graham Stecz finished fourth in the 400 meters at 50.99.
On the women's side, senior
Hannah Hartzell took third in the 3,000 meters with a lifetime-best time of 10:11.73.
Emma Bailey won the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.40, which was .03 ahead of teammate
Aiden Smith.
A large portion of the roster stayed in Indianapolis to train. The Bulldogs return to action Friday and Saturday at the BIG EAST Indoor Track and Field Championships. The championships will take place in Staten Island, N.Y.
